We have this little handmade fabric doll at home, and I’ve always found her incredibly charming.
Since I’ve been practicing fabric simulation in CLO3D, she inspired me to create a fully fabric-based 3D character, as if she stepped into a digital world but kept all her softness, lace, and texture.
This project was a study in materials: cotton body, lace trims, floral print, knitted hair, velvet boots… everything built and simulated in CLO3D, except the body shape, which was done in Zbrush. I wanted her to feel tactile, like you could actually touch the fabric.
I love how traditional handmade craft can translate into digital fashion tools.
